Meet Roberto Garcia

I am an Anaheim Union High School District graduate, engineer, and community leader. I have called Anaheim home for most of my life.

I grew up with roots in Santa Ana, where I attended George Washington Elementary School. My family eventually made their way to Anaheim, and it was at Gauer Elementary and Brookhurst Jr. High where this city truly became mine. It was also at Brookhurst where I met my high school sweetheart – the woman who is now my wife. I went on to Savanna High School and graduated in 2009.

I received my Associates Degree at Santiago Canyon College in Orange, CA before transferring to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I have built a career as an Energy Engineer working on projects from New York to California. I have been exposed to a wide variety of communities, cultures, and systems – and that experience has shaped how I think about what works, what doesn’t, and who gets left behind when leaders stop paying attention. I am a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California, and I bring that same rigor and accountability to everything I do.

I am also a proud Big with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County and the Inland Empire. We’re a community of mentors helping empower our youth and transform our neighborhoods.
